My Approach
I work on a retained or project basis. I work one-on-one to restore clarity and focus, rebuild balance and introduce new perspectives into your everyday working and personal life.
My approach is tailored to suit your specific needs and my aim is to challenge and support you to achieve your own and your team’s commercial AND personal goals.
Working with you to build a clear picture of “What Success Looks Like”.
Whilst the majority of my work is one-on-one, I also continue to run two of my favourite workshops – Presentation Skills and Negotiation Skills. They’re my favourite because of the high level of particpation and interaction and because of the immediate results than you can see as individuals stretch themselves to try new approaches.

The 496 Partnership was born out of my belief that too many talented people are not given the support they need to allow them to fully develop their skills and achieve everything that they’re capable of.
My approach is focused and tailored – working with you to unleash your potential.
Very much ‘just in time’ rather than ‘just in case’. We will cover what we need to, when we need to.

Why 496?
496 is a ‘perfect number’ – it’s divisible by: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 31, 62, 124 and 248. If you take all of those individual component numbers and add them together, the total is 496.
Just as the number 496 is made up of different components, organisations also consist of a number of different components – departments, teams and individuals. Indeed, our own lives have many different ‘components’.
With any one of the numbers missing, any members of the team not performing or if we feel incomplete in any aspects of our own lives, we cannot get to 100%.

Vance is a true all rounder when it comes to everything and anything you look for in a coach, mentor, motivator and thought leader. I’m lucky to have been on the receiving end of a good few years of sound business and leadership coaching from Vance whilst working in the same industry together. Always inspiring creativity, always teaching others to think and act outside the square…Vance is a genuine, humble and fun loving coach to be around.

I worked with Vance over a period of time when we implemented a new Selling Skills programme to our sales team. He was a pleasure to work with and always happy to challenge my thinking to make sure we got the best possible outcomes for our teams. He also introduced us to the concept of running Development Centres for teams and although there was resistance initially because it was different…he encouraged me to be brave and keep going with it. These development centres became an integral part of how we worked and people found them incredibly valuable. Great for coming up with new ideas and adapting them to the workplace you are working in.

Vance mentored me as I began a new role as Sales Controller and helped me make the transition from being one of the team to managing and leading the team. He helped me have confidence in my ability and gave me sound advice on positioning, managing upwards, planning the team restructure to grow our business. His advice, help and support has been invaluable.

I worked with Vance on numerous development programmes and his practical approach combined with his personal energy brought consistent results.
